Most text messages (SMS) in a month-world record

NORTH OLMSTED, OH, USA --
Andrew Acklin, 17, sent or received 19,678 text messages in
a recently completed billing cycle, setting the new world
record for the Most text messages (SMS) in a month.

"That's what I do," said Andrew "Drew"
Acklin. "I text from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. I just text and text
and text."
Acklin, 17, said he largely keeps his text
messages circulating among about 20 friends.
"We just talk about whatever is going on. "Sports,
friends, anything. Random stuff. You name it, we talk about
it.
"I just pick a random friend. "Eventually, I'll
be texting five or 10 people at once."
He currently lives in North Olmsted, Ohio
and attends North
Olmsted High School. His phone service is Alltel
and he uses the Hue, made by Samsung.
Anrew Acklin started his blazing thumbs trick
after reading that a Massillon teen had handled nearly 15,000
texts in a month.
Most texts are sent by young people, according
to surveys by comScore-M:Metrics, a Seattle audience-measurement
company.
Among those 13 to 17 years old, 52 percent say
they send a text at least once daily. For 18- to 24-year-olds,
56 percent text daily.
In the over-65 bracket, only 1.8 percent are
daily doers.
