Most golf holes played in a week-world record
set by Tom Bucci ALBANY, N.Y., USA -- An upstate New York golfer,
Tom Bucci of Latham set the World Record for most
golf holes played in a week, 1,800 holes.
Bucci has been at the Albany Country Club each
day playing 15 rounds at 18 holes a piece since starting last
Saturday. "I don't run. I don't walk. It's my sport, so it's
my vehicle," he said.

Mornings are the toughest, according to Tom Bucci.
"You get up in the morning and it's hard
to get going," he said between shots Wednesday, a day that
ended with another 15 rounds (270 holes) played.
"Not a lot of people come out until around noontime,
and I'm thinking there's no way I'm going to do this. As soon
as noon hits and everybody starts coming out, it makes it
so, so much easier -- not enjoyable, but so much easier."
He said the left hand is weary from the force
it receives with a normal golf swing. "I thought I'd be tired,
but I didn't think I would be hurting," he said. "It's just
golf. That's what I thought. Boy, was I wrong."
Bucci said his other major issue has been a lack
of sleep between rounds.
He used the record attempt to raise money and
awareness for the American Diabetes Association. It's an undertaking
for his wife of 22 years who's been living with the disease.
Tom Bucci says his rounds of golf netted more
than $14,000.
